Next Friday (the 13th!) there will be an image extravaganza at the Studio 101 Gallery in Pilsen. Paul, along with various other Chicago-area photographers, will be displaying artwork created exclusively with Steve Jobs’ notorious little socialization device, the iPhone.
Drawing from various interests and influences, the contributers have used the relatively simple image capturing mechanism of the iPhone as a further extension of their visually creative take on the world.
The opening reception will run from 6-10 p.m. Friday evening, and we would love to see you there! Find the event on Facebook HERE and invite our friends!
Coming up at the end of October Paul Elledge and Leasha Overturf are teaching a week long workshop on Contemporary Black-and-White Portraits in San Miguel De Allende, MX.
This is a workshop for accomplished photographers who are ready for the challenge of overcoming the limited nature of traditional portraiture. To create dynamic portraits, Paul and Leasha encourage participants to avoid photographic clichés and discover new ways of seeing that come from one’s imagination. We discuss issues such as instinct, self-confidence, and trust in the creative process, as well as methods for collaborating with clients and subjects, handling difficult personalities, and working effectively under pressure. Get more info here.

Paul & Leasha have an exhibit on September 11th, 2009. Please see invite below. Hope you can make it!

What is family?
The answer can be comforting to some, and terrifying to others. For most of us the answer lies somewhere in-between those two extremes, and that’s where things just begin to get interesting.
Join us in welcoming Paul Elledge, Leasha Overturf and Jo-Nell Sieren to the Family Room Gallery this September as they individually answer this seemingly simple, straightforward question through a common medium of photography in “Family View.”

Paul and Leasha at Laguna Seca
This past weekend my producer Leasha and I attended the Moto GP race at Laguna Seca in California. Although we were cheering for different racers/teams, we still managed to have a good time! One of the only things that gets me as excited as image-making is the sound of a Moto GP bike screaming down the track!

And speaking of Leasha, she has been chosen as a member of the Chicago Project, and will have two new prints hanging at the Catherine Edelman Gallery from July 10th – September 4th! Mark your calendars and make your plans to drop by the Edelman Gallery this Friday night for the opening reception – we’d love to see you there!
