OLIVIA BEE’S SPITTING IMAGE
Olivia Bee is a 15-year-old photographer who was born and raised in Portland “Somewhere in between the hipsters and the nature.” We’re not sure whether that’s supposed to mean a hospital adjoining [neighborhood] and the woods or that her parents were trees who are really into bike culture, but we like what she does with a camera and a friend.
Her first “emotional dumping tool” was an old Pentax K1000 she swiped from her mom during middle school, but now she’s finally saved up enough babysitting money for a fancy SLR the gears have really started spinning. We had to put our hand over the phone at this point so she wouldn’t hear us screaming “Awwwwww” at the top of our lungs.
Here are some shots from her most recent series Spitting Image which he she describes as an attempt to capture “being a teenager, my friends, and the other people I know.” Here come the awws again.
